What a great day - the weather was superb, the terrain was ideal; adding an excellent new map of the area and great catering/prizes at the end of the day made it a day to remember. Thanks to all that provided such kind feedback - the 3-hour format certainly seems to be a winner - providing a 'value for money' 3 hour event which appeals to those that want to run for 3 hours and/or those that just want to enjoy the countryside for the same time.
Outright winners on the day were Bruce Arthur and Paul Liggins - completing all 32 controls in about 22 km and 2 hours 21 minutes - just to make, sure they did one control twice. There were some other remarkable performances - such as junior Rob Fell, who did 15 controls (due to a back injury) - but got 1st, 2nd or 3rd place on 11 of the legs...beating many strong seniors that did the same course.
